The covid-19 antibody test for health and care employees has been underway for some time, but starting week 40, September 28, the public will be able to book appointments through a service based on the Web. This is announced by the Västra Götaland region.
As of September 6 inclusive, the Västra Götaland region had carried out just over 42,000 antibody tests on patients and healthcare professionals.
Health Director Ann Söderström says in a press release:
– The sampling of municipal health personnel and users has begun, which will gradually expand in the coming weeks. Then we open to the public.
On the site comes information on which health centers and hospitals offer sampling. Therefore, no reservations will be made by calling your health center or 1177.
The region writes that so-called PCR tests, which show ongoing COVID-19 infections, are a higher priority than antibody tests. Therefore, the sampling or analysis of the PCR tests will have priority to break possible chains of infection, if there is a queue in the analysis work.
