When France’s national team captain Didier Deschamps introduced the team against Sweden in the Nations League on September 5, it was clear that the country’s midfield star Paul Pogba will be out, as the 27-year-old years tested positive for the corona virus.

One who was selected, however, was Lyon midfielder Houssem Aouar, but now he too is forced to resign. On Friday night, Ligue 1 club Lyon announced that Aouar tested positive for the corona virus.

The club writes that the 22-year-old has shown no symptoms, but will be quarantined for two weeks, so Aouar will not be available before France’s meeting with Sweden on September 5.

Real Betis midfielder Nabil Fekir will replace Aouar.
