Ann Linde skeptical of diplomatic review
– It will not benefit the situation of Dawit Isaak or Gui Minhai, says Chancellor Ann Linde about the review of the silent diplomacy of the Foreign Ministry that the Riksdag wants to see.

– This is the Riksdag that has decided so it must be their decision, Ann Linde tells the radio.
Ann Linde disagrees with the description that the actions of the Foreign Ministry in the two cases can be described as “silent”.
– It is an incorrect description of how we work. In none of these high-profile cases have we been particularly quiet. On the contrary, we have been quite noisy, he says.
Ann Linde is also asked about the case of the Swedish-Iranian investigator Ahmadreza Djalali, who was sentenced to death. He was sentenced to death in Iran in 2017 and has been imprisoned in the country ever since.
– I don’t want to go into details in that case. I don’t think it helps Djalali, he tells SR.
The Riksdag decides on the review in mid-January.
