Do you recognize the woman in the photo? I suspected it, even though it was a while ago. She is on TV4. Journalist Anki Edvinsson was once a weather presenter and host for the channel.
This is a personally written text on Smålandsposten. Opinions expressed are those of the author.
Anki Edvinsson has become a writer. Already in 2018 his first detective story came out, it is called “Lust to kill”, but it passed me by without a trace. His new to the series, “The Snow Angel” has received a lot of attention. So much so that I became curious and began to listen.
The book takes place in Umeå, where Anki herself has lived for several years. He has studied criminology at Umeå University, which is helpful when writing his detective stories. Criminology makes it easier for you to understand your characters and the crimes they commit. Additionally, Anki Edvinsson grew up in a family of police officers, with a father and brother in the profession. Very good help with that. It is not surprising that he chose the detective genre in his writing.
In “The Snow Angel” we follow cops Charlotte von Klint and Per Berg, in many opposite ways, but they form an invincible team. The story: a boy jumps off a bridge right in front of his parents’ eyes. A middle-aged woman is found dead in her home.
A teenage girl disappears. At first you don’t see any connection, but it will come. The common denominator is spelled drugs. Charlotte and Per have to fight against the clock and must at all costs find the missing girl before it is too late.
Last week “Just a Drop of Blood” was released, the second part of Carin Hjulström’s cozy crime series “Säbyholm’s Green Fingers.” The first part, “Just a Little Murder” (2020) will now be a television series. The books take place in a dilapidated nursery on the Säbyholm estate. There we can follow actress Siri Ehrensvärd and her nephew Anton, a former juvenile delinquent, and how together they build a new life based on new dreams of life. Siri has changed Dramaten’s big stage for life in the country, and Anton tries to stay on the right side of the law. But in the midst of all the idyll, one or two murders also appear.
Carin Hjulström has so far signed a publishing agreement for a total of five books in this series. Exciting!
We have at least two actors debuting as writers this year. Partially happy Jankell who published “Livlina” in the days and this fall comes the time of one of our most appreciated comedians, Rachel Mohlin, who later debuts with the relationship novel “Dungen”.
It is about the talking coach Adina and her childhood friend Malin, who move between a free church: Småland in the 80s and today in a stormy flat in the city center of Stockholm. There’s CBT therapy, spoken language, boxing, and maybe everything that’s been through that copse in the swinging fields still has an answer at the end. Here’s what Rachel Mohlin says in a press release:
“I’ve been writing my whole life and the step to write fiction seemed obvious to me. Having moved into contexts such as theater, television, radio and film, where the voices and power of many create the end result, I am now in the place where I am ready to add the string to my lyre to create a story for myself. “
