Anger in California – after Trump’s words about the fires

At least 35 people have died after the severe fires that ravaged the western United States, especially California, Washington and Oregon.

US President Donald Trump announced that he will travel to California on Monday to meet with firefighters fighting the flames.

The fires in the United States have led many to point to ongoing climate change. However, Donald Trump points to another reason.

Anger at Trump: “Everyone is insulted”

During a campaign event in Nevada this weekend, the US president said it was due to poor forest management.

– They’ve never seen anything like it. Please remember these words, very simple, forest management, Trump said according to AFP.

The words have caused the mayor of Los Angeles to react strongly.

– Everyone who lives in California is offended by it, says according to the news agency and continues:

– Talk to a firefighter if you don’t believe in climate change. It is not about forest management or raking.

The mayor believes that Trump and his administration have “stuck their heads in the sand” when it comes to climate change.

Trump has come under fire for previous fiery statements

In the fall of 2018, the United States was affected by fires in the same state, where, among other things, the city of Paradise was particularly affected.

Then Donald Trump said they should look at Finland and how they manage their forests.

– If you look at other countries where they do it differently, it’s a completely different situation. I met the president of Finland who said they are a forest country and they spend a lot of time raking and have no problems, the president said then.
