– Young people of high school age can become infected and spread to each other, says Anders Tegnell.

The state epidemiologist continues to report on how the Public Health Agency will work to develop nursing home visitation restrictions.

– You must not go there when you are sick. And you have to check the situation in the nursing home you are going to visit, says Tegnell.

The National Board of Health and Welfare says they have come to the same conclusions as the Swedish Public Health Agency regarding the removal of the restraining order from the country’s nursing homes.

– We understand that many longed to meet their loved ones. But you have to let the activities have time to adapt to implement them safely, says Katrin Westlund, a legal expert with the National Board of Health and Wellness.

For a while Back, the National Board of Health and Welfare is working on developing proposals on how regions should handle the pent-up need for care. The proposals will be sent to the government later that day, according to Mattias Fredricson, head of unit for the National Board of Health and Welfare.

Emma Spak, section manager in Swedish municipalities and regions, then describes the region’s work to shorten the queues for care. She emphasizes that you should seek care if you are sick.

– The support of the National Board of Health and Welfare is appreciated. It will be a good complement to the regions’ own work.

– The regions are now working intensively to be able to attend another wave of COVID-19 infections and be able to offer care to everyone else who needs it, says Emma Spak.

Svante Werger, advisor, The Civil Protection and Emergency Preparedness Agency, then takes over. It reports on the latest survey, conducted by MSB, on how Swedes experience the pandemic.

It highlights that a large majority have confidence in the management of the coronavirus society. He also says that much of Sweden’s population has received information about the pandemic in recent times.

During the press conference SKR’s Emma Spak gets a question about how they work to allow more people to get tested for an ongoing infection. As it seems now, it is difficult in the Stockholm Region to be able to take a test on the first or second day of illness due to long lines.

– It is important not to go try it yourself when you have no symptoms. The sick should be given priority. But the regions are also working to expand their capacity, says Emma Spak.
