During the season, forward Isaac Kiese Thelin has been loaned to Malmö FF. With his 14 goals, he was the team’s best scorer and a key piece of the team that recovered the Swedish Championship trophy.

Recently, it became clear that Kiese Thelin would return to his Belgian club Anderlecht, but at the same time, MFF sporting director Daniel Andersson was open to trying to succeed in having the forward in the 2021 squad as well.

– It’s sad that Anderlecht called you in January to appear there. But we are working. We have not given up hope and we really hope he will be with us next year, Andersson told Expressen.

And now Belgian Het Laatste Nieuws reports that Anderlecht have placed the Swede among the players they hope to sell when the January window opens.

It remains to be seen if this means a return to Malmö FF. Kiese Thelin himself said after the season finale that there are a few different alternatives to take a closer look at.

– I’ll go back there and then we’ll see what happens. There is a lot of interest so I go there and start training there and then we will see what club it will be after that, the forward told Dplay then.
