Maja Stark, 21, finished going three above par and finished a total of five above at the Women’s US Open at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas. Stark finished as a fraction of a second behind the fans and in a fraction of thirteenth place in the US Open competition.
– I didn’t make such big mistakes. You can easily get lost, but I didn’t make any major mistakes all week and I’m very happy with that, says Stark to SVT Sport and continues.
“My best competition”
– I’d say this was the best competition I’ve ever had. I still feel like I have more to give and I have a better game in me. But to keep it four days, I’ve never done it before. This was the best I have ever achieved if you think about the whole.
Today, Maja Stark is going to college in Oklahoma, but by the fall, she is done with college and amateur games.
– My plan is to qualify for the LPGA or Symetra tour next fall and then there will be no more colleges after that.
US Open rookie Kim A Lim won
She won the Women’s US Open at Champions Golf Club in Houston, Texas, was done by South Korean Kim A Lim, who ranks first at 94th in the world and is a rookie at the US Open. Lim impressed in the final round and covered all 18 holes in 67 strokes, four under par, finishing with a total of three over more than four rounds.
She won by one stroke ahead of compatriot Ko Jin-young and American home jumper Amy Olson. The latter clearly played the competition despite the fact that her father-in-law died over the weekend. After Olson hit on Monday, when the competition was decided due to bad weather on Sunday and the advanced round, she was clearly shaken.
