Allsvenskan: fun scorer when AIK passed over Hammarby

AIK danced dangerously close to the qualifying line and needed points in the bottom swamp.

Hammarby needed to climb to catch up on the battle for the European locations.

It was two teams with borderline confidence that made up for Sunday’s Allsvenskan soccer derby in Solna. It is true that AIK had beaten Malmö FF points last time (0-0), but in the last eleven games it had only been one win and for new coach Bartosz Grzelak it was only one win in eight games.

Hammarby, on the other hand, sought revenge for the sordid exit from the European Games (0-3 against the Polish Lech Poznan), so there was a derby at the Friends Arena.

AIK had a chance in the 1-0 already in the first minute when Paulos Abraham went to the goal. But one moment in the first half, Hammarby took over, put pressure on the home team and lined up the corners and free throws.

Still, it was AIK who took the lead in the 27th minute.

The 1-0 shooter? Nabil Bahoui, who thus scored his first goal of the season.

Bahoui injured his cruciate ligament during the team’s last training session in 2019. The 29-year-old missed the entire preseason and the start of the season. But in late July he came back, and on Sunday he stayed ahead after Henok Goitom sent the ball into the penalty area through Abraham.

– It has been a tough journey, Bahoui said, but he wanted to focus on the team effort:

– The most important thing was that the team won.

Ten minutes later it became a goal again.

Paulos Abraham only passed one Hammarby player after another before he could make it 2-0 with his left foot.

In the second half In the 69th minute, a tired Bahoui resigned. At the time, AIK still led 2-0 despite Hammarby having had a couple of places down (Kalle Björklund and Gustav Ludwigson).

And it would also be 3-0 for the home team.

In the 77th minute, FC’s Sebastian Larsson fell dramatically outside the penalty area. His teammate and this summer’s newest addition Mikael Lustig stayed ahead on the comeback and screamed his joy after AIK’s first goal of his career.

– The first goal in the AIK suit, in a derby and when we need the points. Then there was a lot of excitement, Lustig said.

How much room to breathe did this give me?

– It is clear that we will be happy with today’s victory in this derby, but then we will focus again. We are the ones who have put ourselves in this situation, and we are the ones who will save it.

Sebastian Larsson was on the same track:

– It was wonderful to see that he (Funny) is there and puts it there. But this was a match, a victory. We remain in a very difficult situation.
