It was a dramatic finale to the season on “All of Sweden bakes” when the three finalists suddenly became two.
In the final thriller, it was finally Hilda Kirkhoff who was able to proudly call herself the best home baker in the country.
– It feels wonderful, he tells Aftonbladet.
Hilda Kirkhoff, 26, is the lucky winner of “All of Sweden bakes” 2020. It was a dramatic finale and already at the beginning of the show it turned out that the three finalists were suddenly just two. Was Frida bornholt, 29, who was missing.
– It’s because Frida caught a cold earlier this week. And in these crown times, we have to be very careful, he says. Tina Nordström in the program.

Frida Bornholt sent them a video greeting.
– You know I would love to be there with you and have a real fight today, but sadly it didn’t happen, she says and wishes him good luck.

“Wedding cake worthy of a royal wedding”
The theme was “royal finale” with a “wedding cake worthy of a royal wedding” as one of the defining elements of the competition. They arrived five hours before it was time for the jury’s evaluation.
Ida had also baked cakes for the cake.
– It should be a real cake. It’s a bit synonymous with you Ida, you’ve received instructions and recipes, then you read and then you do a bit on the sidelines anyway, it says Johan Sörberg.
When it was Hilda’s turn, Johan Sörberg began removing flowers from the cake that he was meant to decorate.
– It would have been more elegant for me, without these. I want to look at the cake, not the flowers.

Marispan tears and roses
A defining moment was a crocodile, a sinuous mass built on several floors, to the horror of Hilda and Ida. For three hours, they had to sprinkle almond paste and make marzipan roses. Hilda Kirkhoff had a hard time holding back tears, but this time for the press.
– I’ll never make marzipan roses again, he says.

“Close to collapsing”
After the final jury evaluation, it was Hilda Kirkhoff who could call herself the best home baker in Sweden in 2020. In addition to the honor, she also received a baking book contract and a cake plate.
When Aftonbladet catches up with her, she’s happy and can finally breathe a sigh of relief.
– It feels absolutely wonderful! It is a mixed feeling, a feeling of emptiness but also a great relief to be able to share it.
What do you remember from the final?
– That he was very proud to have taken me so far. At the same time, it was really the last energy that was pumped to deliver one hundred percent to the last. When you have to get the evaluation, you are close to collapsing.
Now that it is official, he hopes to be able to work with the confectioner full time.
– I love doing television and I love writing my book. It would have been a lot of fun to continue that.
How are you going to celebrate?
– It will be roe and champagne!
