Alicia Keys is especially proud of her success after her tough education.
The world star says she was not destined to do so well in life.
– She was destined to be a prostitute, a young mother at 16 or addicted to drugs, she says in an interview with The Guardian.

– He was not destined to leave Hell’s Kitchen, he was destined to be a prostitute, a young mother at the age of 16, or a drug addict. I’m the one who would be in the wrong place at the wrong time and get hurt or killed, she says.

“A dream is a luxury”
She continues.
– And what the hell is a dream? A dream is a luxury if you have to pay all these bills and have food on the table for your children. That is why I understand so much what it means to have the strength to go your own way.
She also says that all the songs she has written that are considered uplifting and strong are songs that she wrote when she has been at the end herself.
– Because I needed to remind myself not to “forget”.
Alicia Keys has won 15 Grammy Awards and has been nominated 29 times during her career. She broke up with the hit song “Fallin ‘” in 2001.
