The thousand-square-foot luxury home has now been sold for over SEK 40 million.
– It was totally fine, Wilander tells Expressen.
Seven bedrooms, eight bathrooms, three fireplaces and a plot of more than 300,000 square meters.
Swedish tennis icon Mats Wilander’s villa outside Sun Valley in Idaho has been on the market since 2005. But the villa has not been the easiest to sell.
Back in 2009, Wilander spoke in an interview with Sportbladet about the difficulties in selling the villa.
– I have been trying to sell the house for four years, but we knew it would take some time. It is very difficult to sell a house priced at more than $ 5 million, he told Sportbladet at the time.
Started at $ 7.9 million
The price went from $ 7.9 million before appearing in the latest brokerage announcement for $ 4.75 million, around SEK 48 million.
– It was almost exactly like that. It was one percent less than the price, but quite close. It was totally fine, Wilander tells Expressen.
The house was sold two months ago, but was made official ten days ago.
– So we’re there, I just picked up my LP and CD collection. I threw half away, but the other half appeared. So that the closet is ready. So we really only have one room left, then we are completely out of the house. But we have a big house, so it took a damn time, he says.
