Adriana, 12, was shot and killed in a rest area in Botkyrka.

Hundreds of people attended his funeral to say goodbye.

– We cannot get Adriana back, but we can all help society improve, said director Maria Garp Nordheden.

Adriana’s fatal shot in early August has rocked Sweden. She became an innocent victim of the utter cruelty of gang wars.

When the 12-year-old girl was buried today, family and relatives, friends and classmates were present.

In a 200-meter-long procession, they honored Adriana’s memory. They walked in silence from the chapel to the cemetery. The entourage lined up with white balloons and the participants walked to the sound of bagpipe music. Many were children.

Principal Maria Garp Nordheden was one of the speakers. She described Adriana as a committed young woman who wanted to change society.

He recounted an occasion when Adriana asked him if he should become a politician.

– Adriana was a person who wanted to fight for those who had a bad time, she wanted to change things. We cannot get Adriana back, but we can all receive help to improve society.
