According to county wildlife management delegation guidelines, the same wolf must be involved in three different attacks on domestic animals before protective hunting is considered, the county administrative board writes in a press release. .

The latest attacks took place in Tyringe in north Skåne on Saturday and in Ravlunda in Österlen on Tuesday. It is not yet clear if it is the same wolf that attacked the sheep; responses are expected from a DNA analysis.

It is clear that this is not the wolf that was behind the attacks of five sheep in Skåne in September, because he was recently killed.

Five wolf attacks on Scania

The wolf, which was found dead at E4 outside Vaggeryd on Monday, is behind at least ten sheep attacks in southern Sweden this year, reports SVT Nyheter Jönköping.

Five of the attacks took place in Scania during the month of September.

– Samples of the wolf were analyzed and correspond to samples taken of saliva and feces in connection with some of the previous attacks, Linda Andersson, director of the game at the county administrative board, tells SVT.

The latest attack occurred on Monday night, when several sheep were killed. According to Linda Andersson, it is not unlikely that the wolf killed by traffic was also behind that attack.

– It happened just a couple of miles from where the wolf was found dead, she says.
