Dad died in custody
It was on January 30 of this year that a three-year-old girl was found dead after more than a day in an apartment in Norrköping. The girl’s parents were arrested and then arrested on suspicion of causing the girl’s death by negligence.
On Sunday, February 16, the father was found dead in prison from unclear causes, a case that is under investigation by the prison and the police.
The girl had been placed in a family home since her birth in the spring of 2016. After a verdict in the District Court, the biological parents recovered the girl in the spring of 2019.
The law must be investigated
After the incident, the Government has appointed an investigation tasked with reviewing changes that can strengthen the rights of forced children and how the principle of the best interests of the child can be strengthened in court.
