A person related to the hockey association is accused of sexual assault.

The tours of the Swedish Ice Hockey Association have been many in the past six months.

In late March, SVT revealed that the union is accused of gender discrimination and that a person related to the union is suspected of a sexual assault case and a police investigation was launched.

And on Monday, charges were filed against the person, something Aftonbladet was the first to report.

“Sufficient evidence of a prosecution”

The classification of the crime is sexual abuse and must be linked to the activities of the union.

The lawsuit states that the incident must have occurred on February 6, 2020 at the Globe in Stockholm. The accused is suspected of disagreeing with the plaintiff. “In a way that has been used to violate your sexual integrity”. The person related to the hockey association. “He kept his arms around his upper body, with his legs ‘locked’ and his legs with his lower body ‘jumped,’ that is, he made sexual movements against his body.”, is read in the lawsuit.

Prosecutor Johnny Järlefelt on the case:

– In summary, we can say that a little over an hour ago I tried a lawsuit against a person from the hockey association. The lawsuit contains information that he has been guilty of sexual misconduct.

– I found out there was enough evidence to start a trial. The standard wording we use is that one can object to a convict for objective reasons, and I have come to that.

– Then I am required to press charges even if the plaintiff does not want it.

Confidential investigation

Does the plaintiff not want to do this in this case?

– She has not made a police report, but has made inquiries. That is the only comment I can make about it.

How does the accused respond to this?

– Denies the crime, but extends some physical contact with the accused.

Was it a sunny case for you to prosecute?

– There were no major problems. There was a plaintiff story that I found credible and reliable, then there was also a testimony from a witness, who is also invoked. As he made observations instead.

Johnny Järlefelt also says he has requested that the preliminary investigation be kept confidential.

– I don’t want the identity of the plaintiff to be revealed.

SportExpressen has been in contact with the witness to the incident, who, however, does not want to make a statement at this time.

– I can’t comment on that before trial. I have to be careful.

“Feel the right to have a police report”

It was the former information assistant to the hockey association Anders Feltenmark who made the police report. Soon after that, Feltenmark was allowed to present his assignment to the union.

He comments that the accusation has now been processed:

I made the police report believing that what had happened was so serious that it could lead to something like this. And when the indictment has been processed, based on the prosecutor’s assessment, it feels right and appropriate to make that police report, says Anders Feltenmark.

SportExpressen has sought the accused and his attorney, but with no response.

The Secretary General of the Ice Hockey Association, Tommy Boustedt, resigned after the storm of mass criticism.
