In 2018 and 2019, the Skärholmen district administration paid SEK 3 million to an association that organized festival 127, a popular youth festival in the district.
Now one shows research like Aftonbladet did that more than a million crowns of the money paid has disappeared. Instead of going to the festival, the money has been earmarked for travel and hotel nights, according to an administration police report.
– It is hard for me to see that we will be able to get them back, because there is nothing of value left in the bankruptcy estate, Patrik Åhnberg, district director at Skärholmen, tells the newspaper.
Suspected of falsifying bank statements
According to internal documents of the district administration, it appears that a former employee of the association suspected of falsifying a bank statement to hide that all the money was gone.
When the association reviewed the transactions in his bank account, it turned out that a large number of them were not related to the festival.
The association, which also made a police report, has filed for bankruptcy and the former president does not want to comment on the incident.
