Shortly after 9 pm on Saturday, the police received an alarm that a person had been shot on a staircase in Rannebergen in Gothenburg.

– We went there and found a man in his 20s with a gunshot wound to the groin. He was taken by ambulance to the hospital and luckily there will be minor injuries, says Peter Adlersson, a police spokesman in the western region.

He says police had a major operation at the scene Saturday night.

– We picked up several people for questioning. No one was a suspect but people who had information to provide, Adlersson says, adding:

A weapon has been found

– After some time in the investigation, we found a weapon that had been seized.

Peter Adlersson does not want to elaborate on the find.

The site was cordoned off and a technical investigation was carried out.

– It’s ready now. We may continue knocking on doors on Sunday. The injured person must be heard again. Apparently the police know him, but I don’t know what.

Police are investigating the incident as an attempted murder and an aggravated firearm offense.
