BK Häcken’s talent Imam Jagne, 17, made his Allsvenskan debut in the final round against Hammarby last year, but has not played a match this year at the Allsvenskan. Recently, however, there have been reports of interest from Everton and that a transfer is imminent. GP also reported that Häcken will receive around 15 million SEK for the promise.
Now the transition is also complete. Everton announce that the 17-year-old will join the club for a contract until the summer of 2023. At the same time, Jagne expresses joy at the transfer.
– It is a dream come true. Everton are a really great club and I am very happy to have signed. The club has a great history and they want to help me become a better player and person, which appealed to me, he says in a comment on Everton’s website.
– It’s an exciting time for Everton, so there is no doubt that he wanted to join the club. They made me feel loved. I spoke a lot with football coach Marcel Brands and he told me about the club’s ambitions. I’m more than 100 percent ready to come here to Everton, he continues.
Jagne also tells, on the Häcken website, about her feelings about leaving Häcken.
– I cannot describe my time at BK Häcken because it has been a lot. I was constantly evolving and becoming a better person every day because I had really nice people around me all the time, both the staff and the players. I can never thank Häcken enough for everything they have done for me and especially thanks to Hristijan (Cvetkovski, coach, P17 team) who transferred me to the academy and started teaching me real football, he says.
Häcken Sporting Director Sonny Karlsson on the transition:
– MEMam is a nice guy with a good future as a soccer player, who is welcome whenever he wants, he says.
