A derailment stops traffic on part of the subway red line

From Slussen, passengers coming from the south are encouraged to travel by train on the green line to T-central, then from T-central continue with a replacement bus to Karlaplan / Stadion (all buses go through Karlaplan / Stadion), and from there further north with red line.

In the opposite direction, it is important to take a replacement bus from Stadion / Karlaplan to the T-central, and then follow with a green line to Slussen to be able to travel again with a red line to the south, announces SL on its website.

Still at 5.30 pm SL had no forecast of when traffic on the route may resume.

SL also points out that the risk is great for delays and canceled departures on the entire red line. Travelers are also urged to choose other routes if possible, as the substitution of bus traffic increases the risk of congestion among travelers.

At 5.30 pm, SL was unable to say anything about when traffic on the red line can return to normal.

The derailment took place at 4.30 pm when a train, of the oldest model, on the red line was at the entrance to the T-central.

– When the derailment occurred, only half the train had reached the platform. Then it was some time before all the travelers could be evacuated. We now have ten buses maintaining replacement traffic, says Aleksander Krajisnik in the SL press office, who can otherwise only apologize for the inconvenience caused by SL passengers.

No one was injured in the derailment, the cause of which is unknown at this time.
