Several people are feared to have been seriously injured after a car hit the sidewalk and collided with pedestrians in Hackney, northeast London.
According to a police statement, the incident is not being handled as a terrorist attack at this time, but people are being urged to stay away from the area.

The incident occurred at lunchtime in the Stamford Hill area. A major rescue operation is underway at the site. Ambulances and rescue services are helping the injured and the police have cordoned off the scene.
Daily Mail photos of the scene show multiple rescuers and a gray car that appears to have crashed into a tree. The area is also cordoned off and the injured are said, according to the newspaper, to be cared for while lying on the ground around the crashed car.
A police spokesperson says according to the Daily Mail that they currently do not assume there is a terror motive behind the incident.
