Billy Mitchell sues the twin galaxies. You consider your investigation against him to be defamatory

Controversial arcade player Billy “King of Kong” Mitchell is now suing the game service Twin Galaxies after they canceled all their previous Donkey Kong registrations in 2018. The reason for this is that Twin Galaxies and several other reviewers believe the record Mitchell is established with modified Donkey Kong machines.

Guiness Record Book has also removed the entire record from Mitchell Donkey Kong, but Mitchell has refused to accept it. Now, Ars Technica reports that Mitchell has sued Twin Galaxies in an effort to fix the problem in the arcade world. Mitchell has sued Twin Galaxies for defamation while considering Twin Galaxy’s investigation into whether Mitchell’s record was set on an unmodified Donkey Kong machine.

Twin Galaxies does not believe this to be the case, and says it could harm freedom of expression if its investigation were found to be libel against Mitchell. On July 6, the two sides will meet in court for the first time, and then the court will primarily decide whether Mitchell’s prosecution case really deserves to be admitted to a lawsuit at a later date.
