On New Year’s Eve 2019, China confirmed the first known case of the new corona virus.
French doctors have now examined old samples.
An infected patient was already present in the country on December 27.

Meanwhile, reports of Chinese Wuhan starting to arrive about an unusual new form of pneumonia. On New Year’s Eve, China announced to the outside world that the disease was caused by a new coronavirus: sars-cov-2.

Today comes new data on the spread of the virus from France.
A patient who sought treatment for pneumonia in a French hospital in December, was breastfed and sent home has now proven to be the country’s first confirmed coronary case.
Dr. Yves Cohen, head of the Avicenne hospital intensive care unit, tells Franceinfo that he subsequently examined 50 patients who in December and January showed what doctors now know to be coronary symptoms.

One of them, a man in his 50s, has been called by the hospital with the message that he was ill on covid-19.
His exam was already taken on December 27.
– We ran the tests twice to make sure there were no failures. And both times the response was positive, Yves Cohen tells Franceinfo.
The man is said to have been very surprised and unable to explain how or when he was infected. But it also turned out that her two children were infected.

Exactly how the man and children contracted the virus is unknown. But doctors think it is through the wife, even though she has not been ill. Based on her infection tracking, the best theory is that she was infected at work.
Therefore, Cohen says that it is not safe to say that the man in the unspecified city of France is Patient 0.
