It was the night before Saturday that around 300 cars full of crazy people gathered for the so-called spontaneous cruise, in Lidköping.
Police were called to the site to deal with the situation, which they say was caused by something they call youngsters on motorcycles.
– There were many cars that gathered in different places in Lidköping, including in connection with a parking lot in a nursing home. It was loud and drunk, so disturbing in different ways, said Anna Göransson, a police press spokeswoman for the western region on Sunday morning.
McDonald’s had to close again
But some of the people who participated in the wet drink party were not content to just stay outside or in their vehicles, but instead requested McDonald’s in the Ågårds area, which finally had to close again because the crowd threatened the control rules of infections in the room.
On March 27, the government decided to impose a ban on public events for groups of more than 50 people and, shortly after midnight, the police decided to dissolve the event in Lidköping.
– The decision was made based on the number of cars and participants. It was seen as a public event, Anna Göransson explained.
On their website, police also clarified on Sunday morning that the size of the event posed a contagious risk:

Tegnell: “It is not good”
During Monday’s press conference on the spread of covid-19, state epidemiologist Anders Tegnell commented on the situation in Lidköping:
– We have very clear rules and recommendations regarding this type of public meeting, they are not intended to take place now. This is not good, he said.
Although the event broke up shortly after midnight, some of its participants stayed in the Biltema parking lot, where they were finally intercepted by the police at 03 o’clock.
However, according to the police, no person will be guilty of any more serious crime in the incident.
