At weekend checks there were deficiencies in seven restaurant operations.

Environmental management controls on restaurant congestion in Malmö continue.

During the electoral weekend, seven companies did not meet the requirements.

To ensure that restaurants in Malmö comply with applicable coronary restrictions and are free from congestion, environmental management carries out more and more controls in the city.

During the election weekend, inspectors carried out 38 checks at restaurants, bars and cafes in the city center, as well as in Limhamn, Möllevången and Davidshall. In total, there were seven restaurant operations that did not meet the requirements established by environmental management. Therefore, follow-up checks will be done there.

The case was sent

The deficiencies were mainly due to congestion due to furniture, lack of distance information and difficulties in tracking guests from the outdoor seating.

“The general impression of inspectors is that the vast majority of operators do what they can to reduce congestion and allow guests to maintain safe distances,” writes miljö’s administration in a press release.

For restaurants that were previously deficient and have now been re-verified, there was one that had not rectified its deficiencies. Therefore, the matter was referred to Smittskydd Skåne, who has the right to temporarily close a restaurant business.

Ten visits

The business then took the steps that were required and never had to be closed. During a new visit by the environmental administration, it turned out that there was no longer a congestion problem.

Of the controls carried out between April 30 and May 2, ten were follow-up visits for previous deficiencies.
