Nursing home visits have been introduced to reduce coronavirus infection. Picture of March 2020.
The high proportion of hourly fluctuations has contributed to the spread of the coronavirus in elderly care in Stockholm, the Kommunal union tells Ekot.
– There are many different people in the business who may be working in different places and this in turn leads to the spread of the infection, says Ulf Bjerregaard in the union municipality of Stockholm to Ekot.
In March, about 40 percent of municipal senior care staff in Stockholm were hourly, fixed-term employees and 23 percent of working hours were performed by hourly workers, according to the radio review. .
Bjerregaard says that Stockholm has established systems to use the form of employment, which is used to a much lesser extent in, for example, Malmö and Gothenburg.
– I am afraid I will spread the infection to departments that have not yet received the crown, but I cannot afford to say no, says a woman, who has been in Stockholm for several years for several years, to Ekot.
The former Stockholm City Council Erik Slottner (KD) agrees that the proportion of hourly wages is too high, but says it is too early to draw conclusions about fixed-term employment that caused an increase in the spread of infection.
