Biometrics company Fingerprint Cards reports a pre-tax profit of SEK 6.5 million for the first quarter of the year, which can be compared to a loss of SEK 0.8 million in the corresponding quarter of the previous year.

Revenue fell 10 percent to SEK 310 million.

According to the company, sales decreased due to capacity constraints on subcontractors and restrictions on freight transport as a result of the crown pandemic.

“We look forward to the continued impact of insufficient access to production capacity by large semiconductor manufacturers. However, the situation has improved somewhat as restrictions as a result of the coronavirus outbreak have been gradually lifted in Asia, ”writes Christian Fredrikson in a comment.

In the report, Fingerprint Cards states that the company’s market share for capacitive sensors for mobile phones has increased since the corresponding quarter last year.
