The decision came on Sunday afternoon from the region’s infection control doctor. Another tavern in the capital may close after control of the municipality.

– I wish it was different. Closing operations is not an end in itself, but if we have to, we must, says Per Follin, infection control doctor in the Stockholm Region.

So far, nine closure decisions have been made in the Stockholm region.

– Checks have been working for so long and knowledge of the rules has also been around for quite some time. So I think it’s overwhelming, “says Peter Brådenmark, Head of the Environmental Management Unit in Stockholm.

TT: You don’t know the rules or just don’t care?

– There are probably very few who do not know this, given the media attention. I don’t want to express that they don’t mind, but when we go back to those who have received comments and still have deviations on the second visit, then they have not accepted our views, says Peter Bratanmark.

“Running with his beer”

However, the unit manager notes that all debt should not be deposited in taverns.

– Many pubs try, but the later it turns, the more drunk the visitors become. It will be a problem and in the past we have noticed people not sitting down but running with their beer in hand, says Bratanmark.

During Saturday’s checks, deficiencies were found in four of Stockholm’s 19 helmets.

– In fact, it does not respect the advice and recommendations of the Public Health Authority, says Peter Bratanmark.

TT: Why don’t you think?

– Say it. I have no answer. You may not be afraid and think that you will not suffer as an individual.

TT: But closing is a hard blow to business. Shouldn’t that scare the crows?

– Yes Yes. This is a great consequence for the business, says Peter Bratanmark.

Deficiencies across the country

The Stockholm Infection Protection Unit received two other notifications on Saturday, one from Sigtuna and one from Stockholm. However, the infection control doctor has requested more information about the taverns before a decision on the closure can be made.

– We want a clear basis that points out the deficiencies and that you have had the opportunity to correct them, says Per Follin.

In central Gothenburg, a tavern was closed after checking on election night, and no new case was received by the region’s infection protection unit over the weekend, according to an email sent to TT.

In Malmö, a case was sent to the region’s infection protection unit after checking on Friday, but the day after deficiencies were resolved.

“They took swift action and furnished the facilities,” says Arvid Nordland, head of the Environmental Management unit in Malmö.

During Saturday’s checks, the municipality found five places that had congestion problems. The pubs had not been previously visited by the municipality.

– We will do new checks in the afternoons and weekends to see that the measures work in practice. If it is not resolved on the second visit, we will drop the matter directly to the infection protection unit, says Arvid Nordland.

In late March, the Public Health Authority introduced new temporary rules for restaurants, bars, and cafes across the country. The goal is to reduce the spread of the corona virus.

Congestion should not occur.

Visitors must eat and drink seated at tables and staff must place orders. If guests are able to order and pick up their food and drink, then it is allowed as long as it does not create congestion or queues.

Spaces must be kept between tables and between people in line.

Unloading food can be delivered as usual, provided it can be done without overcrowding.
