Yesterday The Swedish guidance association announced that Tove Alexandersson has been ill for a couple of weeks and is not exercising at the moment because he has had heart problems.
“I have performed medical examinations that have shown that even the heart has been affected,” he said in a press release.
“I didn’t feel very well”
For SVT Sport, she develops what it’s all about.
– After I had no symptoms, I still felt that my body didn’t feel very good, so I wanted to check my heart before I started exercising to make sure it wasn’t affected in any way. Then I did an ECG showing that the heart had some kind of impact, he says, but he didn’t want to explain more exactly what the impact was about.
– I don’t think I can really say that. It’s probably easy to go wrong because I don’t have the medical knowledge to correct it, says Alexandersson.
– After the ECG, I did a little more research and took it easy and didn’t train to wait until I can see that the heart has fully recovered again and everything looks good.
“I was quite sick”
Alexandersson, who says she is currently not feeling any symptoms and is feeling well, explains that she is not very concerned.
– I was quite sick when I was sick and I had a fever for a long time, so it might not be so strange that the heart has been affected a bit and then it is important to be very careful with the training before the body fully recovers so he doesn’t have some heart problems in the future, he says, and continues:
– So I hope there are no heart problems at all.
Without stress
The world of orientation, like almost any other sport in the world, is currently on hiatus due to the cornapandemic. Therefore, Alexandersson is not stressed at all and intends to take the time he needs to get fit.
– I think I should take the time to start in a calm and pleasant way now, and there really is no stress. So first, I should focus on the body making a full recovery before I start exercising again. Then I will step up the training at a decent pace and then see when the orientation season starts.
But the goal is, if it becomes a World Cup at the end of the season, to be at the starting line there?
– I really hope so! If I can only get back to work in a couple of weeks, it shouldn’t be a problem training until then.
