Two people were found dead in the remains of a burned down house in Liden, a few miles northwest of Sundsvall, on Friday. The dead were found when police technicians examined the scene on Saturday.

– It is confirmed that two people died. The identity is not 100% confirmed, but relatives of those who lived at the address have been informed that two deceased have been found, police officer Stefan Andersson tells TT.

The alarm came on Friday afternoon. The house burned down badly when the rescue service arrived and was completely burned.

Subsequently, the couple who lived at the address could not be contacted.

At first, it was not possible to determine with certainty whether anyone had been home during the fire, and the heat made it impossible to search for the remains until Saturday.

The cause of the fire has yet to be published.
