Corona virus fills up garbage tips with gadgets | Evening post

In ordinary cases, the socket for used furniture and clothing generally works well.

Anyone who no longer thinks they have an end-of-life use for possessions has been asked to leave them in a special dump in landfills.

There, ants and other fundraising organizations picked up the devices and then resold them through their own operations.

In this way, things have been able to survive, while organizations have made much-needed contributions to the cash register for people in need.

But now you are alerted that it is full at the recycling facility.

Cleaning house

The cause is believed to be due to the coronavirus.

Because when the authorities in mid-March summoned as many people as possible to telework, things also happened in people’s homes, now it shows pure facts.

– People clean at home and then come to us. Many more people visit us than usual, says Anna-Karin Falkenström, manager of the recycling center unit in north-west Skåne, at Helsingborgs Dagblad.

The tendency to clean closets and storage rooms is evident in Bjuv, Helsingborg, Höganäs, Åstorp and Ängelholm, all of which are part of the municipal company Nordvästra Skånes Renhoudnings AB.

In April last year, the recycling centers received 37,000 visitors. The same month of this year the figure is 41,000.

As a result, landfills were replenished at a rapid rate with used products.

Customers are not

At the same time, another concern has arisen: Players like Myrorna and Erikshjälpen can no longer find supplies for the collected gadgets.

The reason is believed to be that customers more than ever did not leave aid organizations’ stores due to the crown crisis.

In the northwest of Skåne, several of the players report that they are fully stocked in both shops and stores.

– We don’t have a provision for everything, Åsa Blomberg, Myrorna’s Marketing and Communications Manager, told the newspaper.

So far, ants have stopped collecting clothing and flea markets in much of the country, mainly in metropolitan areas.

In Myrorna, demand has been cut in half compared to normal. Oh, storing all products until development changes and people start trading second hand again is considered impossible.

Ask for help

The situation with the other players is similar.

Therefore, it has led recycling centers to ask the public to stop going to recycling centers with large furniture.

– We are unable to receive them for reuse at this time and we want customers to donate, trade, or try to sell them through other second-hand players, says Anna-Karin Falkenström.
