Just before midnight, parts of the sky in central Stockholm glowed red.
Then it disappeared just as quickly.
– The sky was light red, says Sofie.
Stockholm police announce that there are a lot of Bengali fires going on at the same time in the Västerbron.
Several readers listened to Aftonbladet overnight with pictures from different parts of Stockholm. Common to the photographs was that they showed how the sky was colored red.
Sofie witnessed the phenomenon in the Högalid area at Södermalm in Stockholm.
– It was very strange, five out of twelve the sky cleared and then quickly disappeared, says Sofie.
– Maybe it was only for 30 seconds.
She says she didn’t smell anything special or hear an explosion.
– We have opened the windows and have not noticed anything, she says.
In the rescue service in Stockholm they have heard an alarm. From a person who thought it was a big fire.
– But beyond that alarm we have nothing, says Tony Frank, RC Mitt commander.
– Then it can’t be a big fire.
Stockholm police announce that the case is classified as a violation of the Ordinance and Illegal Publication Act.
– About 30 people in Västerbron who showed a sign and lit Bengals. It should be a tribute to the deceased, says supervisor Sylvia Oldin.
The Aftonbladet reporter on the site tells us that the person in question is footballer Ivan Turina, who died on May 2, 2013.
