Joel Lassinantti was promoted by Örebro and several other Swedish clubs.

But now comes clear news about the future of the star goalkeeper:

– He will not play for Örebro if someone thinks so. His club in Sweden is Luleå Hockey, says his agent Jacob Hedin.

After being one of SHL’s absolute best goalkeepers for several seasons, Joel Lassinantti, 27, was ready for a new challenge. The three-year contract with Luleå expired after the season and the public favorite had, according to information, clearly an agreement with the KHL club Admiral Vladivostok.

But just days after the parties agreed, the message came that the Admiral had to withdraw from the KHL due to financial problems after the local sports authority stopped its support for the club.

A cold shower for Joel Lassinantti, whose staff had to start again from scratch.

– I have no intention of commenting on information that we should have had an agreement with the Admiral, says Jacob Hedin.

At the same time, Luleå had eliminated Joel Lassinantti, both sporting and financial. The plan was to drive with the experienced David Rautio and the 17-year-old Jesper Wallstedt.

When the deal with Admiral and Luleå CEO Stefan Enbom was broken, he simultaneously stated on NSD that the club would have a hard time getting Lassinantti’s salary in the budget, other Swedish players took to the track.

Goals for games in the NHL or KHL

The podcast from sports magazine Hockey Studio was able to reveal on Monday that Örebro offered Lassinantti a gold offer. The relationship between Örebro and Luleå, and no less Luleå’s supporters, has been icy throughout the season since Örebro first acquired Robin Kovacs and then Emil Larsson.

But that there would be games with Örebro, or some other Swedish club, Jacob Hedin dies:

– I don’t normally comment on speculation, but in this case I should make an exception for Joel’s sake. He will not play for Örebro if someone thinks so. His club in Sweden is Luleå Hockey and if it were not solved with games outside the country, we intend to try to find a solution together with sports coaches Stefan Nilsson and Ulf Engman.

So is it Luleå that applies if there will be games in Sweden?

– I am convinced that we will find a solution with them in case Joel finally stays in SHL. Joel loves to play in Luleå and everything that has to do with the club. And the club has the same feelings for him, so if we get there, it will probably be resolved.

Can you confirm that Örebro has heard of him?

– This question is directed to Niklas Johansson (Örebro sports manager).

What is Joel’s ambition?

– He still wants to try everything in the NHL or KHL games and we have things for him, but nothing is clear yet, says Hedin.
