In 2018, three women were subjected to attempted rape on several occasions. Two occurred in Vänersborg and one in Uddevalla.
Anette Timm Preinfalk, from the Trollhättan police department for serious crimes, says the course was similar in all cases and the man is suspected of being targeted for rape.
– There is a lonely girl, and a man approaches and begins to grab one. Then think about whether it is not something sexual. Especially since the man did not speak and, for example, asked about the road. But it has not ended in violation. The three have managed to separate, she says.
In September last year, a new incident occurred with a similar course, but then it was a complete violation. The woman was attacked on the pier of a bridge to the Stallbacka Bridge in the Överby shopping center in Trollhättan. It was in connection with organizing a car meeting.

– There are similarities between all the cases. We cannot rule out that it is the same person. That is our working hypothesis. The ghost images that were produced based on the testimonies of the three plaintiffs in 2018 are also very similar to each other. It’s remarkable, says Anette Timm Preinfalk.
The police take the facts seriously and, in connection with the car rallies in Fyrbodal over the Easter weekend, the photographs are redistributed. Police believe the suspect has an interest in a car.
According to the Trollhättan police, it has been announced that car rallies will be organized on Good Friday and New Year’s Eve at the Överby shopping center.
– We want advice on events and hope that someone will recognize the person in the images. At the same time, we also want to prevent man from committing further abuses, says Anette Timm Preinfalk.
