The giant ship is still trapped in the Suez Canal.
The rescue is now complicated by two new problems, reports the Reuters news agency.
A hole has been found in a ballast tank, and large rocks in the bow have made dredging impossible.
The rescue operation of the giant ship Ever Given continues. The tugs try to pull the ship while dredging runs 24 hours a day to remove sand from the bottom of the channel.
On Sunday, the port authority said according to Reuters that 27,000 cubic meters had been dredged, to a depth of 18 meters, in the area around the stern.

The huge ship has an area equivalent to about four football fields.
Two new problems encountered
General Osama Rabie, president of the port authority, says there are “positive signs” from the weekend’s work even though the freighter remains stuck.
– The rudder did not move and now it moves, the propeller works, there was no water under the bow and now it does, he tells Egyptian state television, according to Sky News.
At the same time, salvage information will be hampered by new problems at the front of the ship.
Stone
Large rocks have been found under the front of the ship, according to two sources from the Reuters port authority. Late on Sunday, bulldozers were also seen working to widen the canal edge at the bow.

The ship has been trapped in the canal for four days.
Hole
A ballast tank in the bow has been damaged. Divers have been working to repair the hole and pumps have been installed to drain the water from the tank, Reuters sources say. It’s unclear how big the hole is and if it puts the boat at risk of water entering, but according to Reuters informants, it at least means the boat needs to be inspected once it is free floating.

Preparations for download
As Aftonbladet previously reported, three measures are critical to rescue: dredging, towing, and reducing the weight of the ship.
On Sunday, the port authority stated that the Egyptian president had ordered preparations to unload some of the more than 18,000 containers from the ship.
It is a complicated job that requires floating cranes. Unloading should also be done in such a way that the stability of the ship is not compromised. In the worst case, you risk breaking.
