Now 55-year-old restaurateur Emilio Ingrosso is being sued for just over half a million crowns by his own brother, 57-year-old Vito Ingrosso.

The lawsuit was filed in district court on Wednesday. Vito Ingrosso with the company Kreatis AB considers that the brother Emilio Ingrosso it infringed the trademark when it used the protected trademark ‘Ingrosso’, including the launch of the olive oil ‘Ingrosso Olio Della Casa Extra Virgin’.

According to Vito, the little brother does not have the right to use the surname in the marketing of his food products. That name is a trademark registered by the Patent and Registry Office.

– I registered it in October, says Vito Ingrosso.

That is why he is now suing his brother for more than half a million crowns.

Last fall, Emilio and Åsa Ingrosso and a restaurant in Södermalm in Stockholm, “La Perla”, opened, and this is where the fight with his brother Vito broke out. Because there, the couple has also started selling wine and olive oil under the name “Ingrosso”.

In his application, Vito Ingrosso attaches the registration certificate from the Patent and Registration Office that his company Kreatis AB has for the trademark “Ingrosso”, it was approved on November 24 of last year.

By protecting your brand, you gain exclusive rights to the word or symbol that characterizes a company. It should prevent competitors from using the brand in marketing.

According to the PRV registration certificate, “Ingrosso” will be used for goods and services in foods such as edible oils, vinegar, salami, ham, preserves, pasta, pasta sauces, pizza bases, coffee beans, ice cream and more. valid for ten years.

In the lawsuit, Vito Ingrosso claims a total of SEK 550,100 in compensation from his brother.

The amount includes the costs of production of bottles, labels and marketing, 275,000 SEK. Travel, meeting, sample production and wholesale contacts, SEK 247,300. In addition to compensation for legal representatives, 25,000 SEK.
