Turkey accuses Greece’s coast guard, its arch enemy, of throwing handcuffed migrants into the sea without life jackets, which according to Turkey caused three people to drown.

Turkish Interior Minister Suleyman Soylu posted photos on Twitter that he claimed show Turkey rescuing survivors.

“The Greek Coast Guard abused seven migrants, took their belongings, tied their hands and threw them into the lake without life jackets,” he writes.

The Turkish Coast Guard says it rescued three people and found two bodies in the water. A third is said to have died in hospital, while a search operation is under way to find the last missing person.

Greek Migration Minister Notis Mitarachi said earlier this week that the country was protecting its borders in accordance with EU rules and international law.
