BARCELONA. One more day in the Spanish Playa trial has come to an end.

Four people were heard, including two Swedes. The Swedish woman from Sitges spoke about the trampling by Swedish Playa agents in the scandal-ridden part of the investigation that forms the basis of the indictment.

– “Carl Berg” says he has something, opens the buttons on his shirt and takes out a cylinder. From there he gets rough diamonds, says the Swede from Sitges.

The Swedish Playa investigation is the largest drug investigation ever conducted in Sweden and the second largest preliminary investigation after the murder of Olof Palme. In the end, it was a failure of the Swedish police. Swedish agents, with the agent who called himself “Carl Berg” at the helm, the party lifestyle and generous approach to Jonas Falk via Sitgessvensken are among the most criticized.

“I did not know that the people were Swedish agents until I testified in court in Sweden many years later,” says the Swede from Sitges during questioning on Wednesday.

“Deny the crime”

Veiled clouds cover the blue sky of Barcelona when he goes to testify. He arrives with a down jacket and black mouth guard. You must be heard as a money laundering suspect in connection with the nightclub settlement in the case. The prosecutor is demanding five years in prison and the equivalent of more than SEK 100 million in fines for the Swedish immigrant.

– I deny the crime, says Sitgessvensken to Aftonbladet before going to court.

He assumed as administrator of the club that Jonas Falk is suspected of having bought with his aunt as a bulwark to launder money. In court, you exercise your right to answer only the questions of your own lawyer, not the prosecutor.

Jonas Falk risks 20 years in prison in Spain.

The questions ask why so many cash payments were made, for the corresponding Swedish millions. Something that prompted notices from the bank.

They were clear instructions from Jonas Falk’s aunt that I must take care of everything properly. There was nothing to pay in black, everything would be substantiated, he said. The times I paid in cash, it has been verified with documentation. There is nothing that has not been reported, responds Sitgessvensken.

Swedish agents fancy parties

Finally, the actions of Swedish Playa agents also come into play. The Swede from Sitges says that the man who said his name was “Carl Berg” contacted him because he wanted to rent an apartment that he rented in the small coastal town.

The man was generous and tried to befriend the Swede. Party nights in fancy taverns and nightclubs took turns: most things were served.

After such a dinner, the Swede from Sitges is invited to a hotel room with a man, equipped with a briefcase. In the room, the man opens the briefcase and takes a magnifying glass and a roll of tools. Ask if anyone has something for him. That’s when “Carl Berg” opens his shirt and chooses rough diamonds that are examined by the tool man.

The Swedish agents went to Spain with the aim of celebrating in Jonas Falk’s circle.

– After “Carl Berg” shows the rough diamonds, he asks me if I know anyone who needs investors because he represents people with free capital, but only to get high returns. I say I don’t know anyone, says Sitgessvensken.

“Amazing”

The purpose was for Sitgessvensken to talk about the jewels of Falk, who, according to the police hypothesis, needed to convert his drug proceeds into new business activities. This is one of the many examples described of how the Swedish police failed in their attempts to have Jonas Falk convicted of drug offenses under Swedish law.

Jonas Falk believes that they are now testing the same events that have already dealt with the Swedish legal system. He is critical of the fact that the Swede from Sitgess and other Swedes who have been in his neighborhood are drawn to what he believes to be an obsession with him.

– It is inconceivable that it is processed on these premises. These people are completely unpunished and have never committed any crime, Jonas Falk tells Aftonbladet.
