The rescue service was full.

– We were on site at all locations with a total of eight units, says Johan Eklund, control and alarm operator at the Greater Gothenburg rescue service.

The first alarm occurred at 11:33 pm: a burned-out car at Veckogatan in Kortedala, Gothenburg.

“Two younger boys have been observed”

– In connection with that fire, two smaller children have been observed and we do not rule out that they have something to do with the fire, says Johan Josarp, police officer on duty in the western region.

Three minutes later, at 11:36 p.m., it was time again, this time in Kalendervägen, where a car caught fire.

At 11:40 p.m., the rescue service was alerted to a parking lot on Gregorianska Street where a van was on fire.

The fourth alarm came a minute later, at Nymånegatan, where a car caught fire.

– We have been on the scene with two cars in each fire, says Johan Eklund in the rescue service.

Police believe the fires started

It is not clear how extensive the damage to the vehicles is.

According to the police, there is no information on secondary damage, that is, vehicles other than those that were burned in the parking lots must have been damaged. According to the police, no person should have been injured in connection with the fires.

The fires have occurred in a relatively limited area.

– We assume that the fires have started, says Johan Josarp.

The police searched with several patrols in the area. No one had been arrested at 01 o’clock.

– At the moment, the suspicion is vandalism by fire, says Johan Josarp.
