“What has happened is terrible and unacceptable. RFSL Stockholm strongly condemns all forms of sexual abuse,” said Robert Sandström, president of RFSL Stockholm in an email to TT.
The four applicants are asylum seekers who sought help from the 56-year-old man. According to the prosecutor, the abuse took place on the premises. The plaintiffs are all under the age of 30.
“I mean these men have experienced that they have been in a kind of dependency on the 56-year-old man. They have sought him out for help and advice in their asylum process or in their right to stay in Sweden,” says the chamber. prosecutor Paulina Pilates in a press release.
According to Robert Sandström, the organization in this case has not guaranteed that all operations are safe.
“We are now working hard to make sure this cannot happen again,” he writes in his email.
The suspect was arrested on December 11 and has been in custody ever since.
RFSL Stockholm writes that their monitoring and control around the man has been insufficient and that they are now working to improve the quality of their long-term work and review their routines.
