Prince Philips’ condition is “a little better,” Prince Charles’s wife, Camilla, told British media. Her father-in-law, Prince Philip, 99, has been hospitalized for more than two weeks.

During a visit to a vaccination clinic in London, Camilla, who holds the title of Duchess of Cornwall, said that Philip had been transferred to a cardiac clinic and was in pain, but his condition had improved slightly.

“We keep our fingers crossed,” he told the assembled press.

Prince Philips’ hospital stay is the longest so far in his life and could mean that, given his advanced age, he is rapidly deteriorating. He was transferred to a private London hospital on 16 February and, according to the British court, he was expected to be admitted “for a few days”.

The prince will suffer some kind of contagion, but the court has not wanted to give more details. On Monday, he was transferred to the heart clinic to be examined for previous heart problems. In 2011, he underwent bypass surgery.

According to the British court, Queen Elizabeth II’s husband is expected to stay in hospital for the entire week. On June 10, Prince Philip turns 100.
