The medal adds more flavor to Andersson: “I hope this is just the beginning”

Ebba Andersson came third in the skiathlon behind Therese Johaug and Frida Karlsson and has liked the World Cup medals.

– Hopefully this is just the beginning, says Andersson, who was only two tenths away from twisting Frida Karlsson’s silver.

Ebba Andersson has a WC relay gold at Seefeld 2019 and a WC silver relay at Lahti 2017, which was his first major championship.

Now he got his long-awaited individual medal.

– But it was not a completely optimal implementation on my part. I just have to save it for later during this championship, he laughs.

The ten-kilometer race awaits him on Tuesday, the distance in which he has been most concentrated during the season. Then avoid the ski change that went wrong during the skiathlon race.

– It is an excellent opportunity to get revenge for today’s implementation.

He talks a lot for revenge.

– Yes, I feel like I didn’t get to a clean race. It’s not just results that count when you feel like you haven’t been totally successful, now it’s important to get them next time.

Sometimes Andersson seems to oscillate between joy and disappointment.

– But the result is great and I am very happy to have managed to win a medal in one of the toughest races of the championship.

The trio Therese Johaug, Frida Karlsson and Ebba Andersson were completely superior and the question is if anyone can threaten the trio in the continuation of the World Cup.

– For my part, it is welcome to continue like this. But I just want to do even better next time.

That Johaug was superior and won the skiathlon race half a minute before the Swedish duo is nothing to scare Ebba Andersson.

– Of course Johaug is strong but I do my part and I only see opportunities.
