Since Expressen first reported on the dispute between Ebba Busch and an 81-year-old man from whom he bought a house, the story has become increasingly infected. In March, the parties will meet for oral preparations at the Uppsala District Court. As DN previously reported, people in the circle around the KD leader have advised her not to pursue the issue and several in the party leadership are concerned that the party will eventually be affected.
Ebba Busch has always insisted that the deal was carried out correctly and that it is the people close to the old man who want it to be canceled. On Friday, February 19, he wrote a lengthy Facebook post about, among other things, the seller’s representative and a 15-year verdict against him. It also links other people close to the seller with the agent and an organization that he has run.
“Several times I have had reason to wonder if the attorney really represents [säljarens] Will, ”he writes, among other things.
The post woke up a lot reactions on the Facebook page of the party leader, where she received both support and criticism. On Tuesday, Svenska Dagbladet’s legal commentator Mårten Schultz, a civil law professor, wrote that Ebba Busch’s post could be libel.
“In a technical sense, publication constitutes defamation, and the legal system often looks strictly at information, true or false, about past crimes,” he writes.
On Tuesday night, the representative states that he intends to report the charge. In a text message to DN, write:
“After speaking with my agent tonight, tomorrow I will report Ebba for gross defamation. My agent will take responsibility for the entire case.”
He did not want to be interviewed or commented on. DN has reached out to Ebba Busch and the Christian Democrats for comment.
