OBERSTDORF. The warm weather affects the premiere of the Ski World Championship.

According to information from Sportbladet, Thursday’s sprint will be brought forward.

As Sportbladet reported in recent days, the heat is affecting the Oberstdorf slopes. Already yesterday, the director of the competition, Pierre Mignerey, opened that it may be relevant with changes.

“There are no closed doors,” Mignerey said.

During the morning, NRK reported that Fis and the rights holder Infront had a crisis meeting. According to insiders from Sportbladet, the first two races will be brought forward in the WC.

It’s about Wednesday’s qualifying race and the actual premiere, Thursday’s classic sprint.

In Sportbladet’s experience, the sprint, Sweden’s first medal chance, will start with qualifying at 09:00 and the heat at 11:30.

This instead of 12.45 and 15.15.

Pierre’s racing director, Pierre Mignerey, later confirmed the switch to VG.

– In sport, I think it will be much better. Every minute the sun goes by greatly affects snow conditions. We can see that until 11.30 the tracks hold up pretty well together, he says.

The decision only applies to the two initial distances in the World Cup, Wednesday and Thursday, when several large television companies at today’s meeting expressed their desire to stay with the original schedule for the weekend.
