Around 7 p.m., an alarm sounded that a vehicle had crossed the ice in Gingsjön, south of Bollebygd.
– The caller has seen footprints, double footprints, on the ice. And light under the ice, says Björn Wärnström, control and alarm operator at the rescue service in Greater Gothenburg.
Police are on site and helping rescue service personnel, says Morten Gunneng, an officer on duty at the police command center.
– It is confirmed that something has passed through the ice. We have located a hole. However, it’s unclear what kind of vehicle it is, Gunneng says.
The rescue service in Greater Gothenburg has several vehicles on site. At 7.30pm, the divers are said to be on their way to the water.
– It’s an effort that’s in full swing right now, says Morten Gunneng.
Three health service vehicles are at the site in Gingsjön: two ambulances and a management car, says SOS Alarm.
