Ralf Gyllenhammar was convicted of sexual harassment and, following the verdict, Mustasch taunted the vulnerable woman.

Before Melodifestivalen, the band’s record company tries to interrupt questions about the events.

– That’s enough, says Mustasch’s press contact after she intervened in the interview by activating the Melodifestivalen’s distance alarm.

On Saturday, Mustasch aims to broaden his audience by competing on Sweden’s largest television show.

But four years ago, the leader was convicted. Ralf Gyllenhammar, 54 years old, for sexual harassment. And a year after the verdict, the band opted to print T-shirts that alluded to the incident.

– I was convicted because I put a beer bottle on an employee’s cleavage in a commercial shoot and should have known better. I received a 50-day fine and I apologized to him during the trial, says Ralf Gyllenhammar now.

District Court: “Act liable to offend”

In the summer of 2017 he participated in a commercial shoot. There, Ralf Gyllenhammar is said to have commented several times on the appearance of an employee. At one point, he shoved a beer bottle between the then 25-year-old woman’s breasts.

According to the district court ruling, Ralf Gyllenhammar himself did not recall the incident, but said during the trial that it sounded like “something he could do in a fun way.”

The district court rejected Gyllenhammar’s statement:

That the purpose of the act could have been a joke does not imply any other assessment. The act has been intended to violate the sexual integrity of NN (the harassed woman, editor’s note) and has had a sexual orientation, ”the verdict reads.

In the summer of 2018, Ralf Gyllenhammar was sentenced to a total of SEK 10,000 in daily fines for sexual harassment.

– As for the beer bottle, they have chosen their version. I have had no intention of offending, Ralf Gyllenhammar told Aftonbladet after the verdict.

Printed T-shirts

The print on the T-shirts that Mustasch began selling nearly a year after Ralf Gyllenhammar was convicted of sexual harassment.

Ralf Gyllenhammar:

– Simply wrong decision. It was really good… I should have known better.

But the shirt, why did you print it?

– It was just a designer’s idea. Sometimes you make wrong decisions. But should we talk about music or law?

I wanted to continue, was it not to continue mocking her after the verdict?

– That was not the case, says Ralf Gyllenhammar.

– That was not the intention at all, says the band colleague. Johansson “Stam” floor mats, 52.

So what was the point of the shirt?

Mustasch says on it.

The interview is interrupted by the record company.

Wasn’t it a mockery then?

– Do not.

What was it then?

– Mustasch says on the shirt, I didn’t design it.

But did you choose to sell it?

– Yes. Where do you want to go?

I’m just trying to understand

– It was stupid, it wasn’t a joke at all, of course not, says Mats “Stam” Johansson.

Would you like to say something to him now?

– I say sam …

Ralf Gyllenhammar is interrupted by a beep. Mustasch’s press contact has activated Melodifestivalen’s distance alarm to interrupt Aftonbladet’s interview.

– That’s enough. Now you can move on, now we’ve talked about this, he says.

Ralf complete:

– Now we’ve talked about this enough. Do you want to know more about the song?

Karin Gunarsson, producer of the competition at Melodifestivalen and responsible for which artists can perform in the competition.

Melodifestivalen Competition Producer Karin Gunnarsson believes that Ralf Gyllenhammar’s crime should not prevent him from competing in the Melodifestivalen.

– It is an act that we absolutely do not support in any way, but we do not believe in life sentences. This happened a couple of years ago, he is convicted, he has paid the daily fines that he was sentenced to and therefore can participate and compete.

Why has he atoned for his crime?

– He has atoned for his crime and we are not behind how the person in question acted, but our assessment is that there are not sufficient reasons to prohibit the entire group from competing in the Melodifestivalen.

The gang printed T-shirts where they made fun of the victim, is it to have expiated their crime?

– I can only say that it is sick, tasteless and very inappropriate.
