Patrick Ekwall has been open about his wife Hannah’s diagnosis and her fight with cancer.
It started as breast cancer, and after eight months of treatment, her condition seemed to improve. Then came the strong news that the cancer had spread to the liver, and in late 2020 Patrick Ekwall told me that the cancer was incurable.
– We expect miracles. And it should work. Somehow it has to go. I don’t know how, but somehow it must go, Patrick Ekwall said in an interview with Expressen.
Hannah Ekwall died 39 years ago
Now Patrick Ekwall announces on Instagram that Hannah has passed away.
“Our wonderful beloved Hannah has fallen asleep”, begins the text with.
Patrick Ekwall says that Hannah’s condition quickly worsened over the course of a day.
We are absolutely desperate, we have lost an incredibly beloved mother, a wonderful love and a joyful person who just wanted to help others and spread joy.
It’s incredibly unfair and right now I don’t know how to proceed, although I know Hannah would have thought we should.
I, the family of Tindra, Wilma and Hannah would like to thank everyone who supported us along the way, I know that Hannah was proud of all the support she gave to so many people in the same situation.
We love you forever Hannah and we will never stop missing you. “
Patrick has previously said that he and Hannah have chosen to be open about cancer and that they have started a fundraiser through the Cancer Foundation to support cancer research.
Hannah turned 39.
