Finally the snow is here! This is probably the reasoning of many ski enthusiasts, just like our Swedish royal family. For many years they have been on a skiing holiday at the Storlien house and in the Alps, but this year they don’t have to go far to get some exercise in the sparkling snow. King Carl Gustaf, who has ridden Vasaloppet three times, has organized a long-distance ski slope, just outside his home in Drottningholm.
– They try to make the children ski a lot. It is so healthy at all. But this is exactly what both skis and Daniel like about skis, so it’s clear they’re trying to get kids to like this too, Expressen columnist Karin Lennmor previously said.
In new images from the ski slope outside Drottningholm, we can see how the royal couple and the crown princess couple with the little prince Oscar and little princess Estelle seem to have a wonderful day on the slopes. They travel in single file, laughing and making sure to keep a safe distance due to the prevailing pandemic.
“The royal family appreciated being able to meet on cross-country skis in this way, outdoors and at a distance. Both Princess Estelle and Prince Oscar naturally thought it was a lot of fun spending time on the ski slope with the king and queen, ”says the court’s information secretary, Johan Tegel, in a text message.
He also greets that all royal parks are now open to the public.
