Former US President Donald Trump will never be allowed to use Twitter again, according to the platform’s chief financial officer.
Twitter will not allow former US President Donald Trump to regain access to the platform, not even if he runs for president again.
This is made clear by Twitter’s chief financial officer, Ned Segal, in an interview with the television company CNBC.
– This is how our regulations work, if they remove you from the platform, they remove you from the platform. It does not matter if you are a commentator, a CFO or a person who is currently or has held public office.
Trump was disconnected from Twitter after his supporters stormed the Capitol building on January 6.
Soon after, Donald Trump also closed Facebook and other social networks from his platforms.
– Our regulations are designed to make sure that people do not encourage violence, Segal says.
Donald Trump was a high-profile Twitter user during his four years in office and during his 2016 election campaign. When he was suspended from the platform, the then president of the United States had more than 89 million followers.
