But in December of last year, they announced that their love had ended, just a couple of months after the daughter’s birth. However, the couple must have struggled with the relationship for a long time and the breakup took place even before the child was born.
– The most important thing is that Maret and I, despite the separation, can give our daughter security and love, and that we can be the parents we want to be, says Jon Henrik Fjällgren in an interview with Hemmets Journal.

“Weird and powerful feeling”
The daughter was born at the end of October last year and now lives with her mother in Norway.
– These are divided feelings. It feels great to be a parent, but at the same time it feels very heavy and sad about not being able to live with your son, he tells the newspaper.
Even after the first meeting with the daughter, Jon Henrik Fjällgren could feel a strong bond between them.
– Being able to hold her in my arms for the first time there in the hospital, it was a strange and powerful feeling. I was so safe and calm when I lay there. And we felt like we understood each other, even though she’s only a few weeks old, she says in the interview.
A hard time
In December, Maret Nystad also commented on the situation where she confirmed that she and the boy live in a Norwegian town with just under 3,000 inhabitants and that they are doing well under the circumstances.
“It has been a difficult time with many thoughts and feelings,” he wrote then.
